Challenge

Create a purposeful ergonomic seating installation that provide an emphasis on user-centric ergonomics.

Kaunas Chair is the outdoor, multi-material chair that enhances the user's experience and comfortability when enjoying nature. Featuring a CNC cut back and seat rest that act as living hinges, the chair will conform to what you body deems most comfortable.

Ergonomic Research

After setting a goal for what experience I wanted to craft, I studied existing successful product serving a similar function. Taking and testing measurement were key to developing my own enjoyable project.

Through sketching and material testing, over the course of 3 weeks, I was able to develop different concepts, review them with professionals, and adjust to optimize physical form and aesthetics

Scale Modeling

Taking 2D sketches to 1/16 scale 3D models, the product started to take form and aided in determining final design details.

Production began at week 4 by CNC
of the birch seat and back, straight bending 1/4 in steel rod, welding the frame, piece-by-piece finishing, and
final assembly

I am a fourth year Industrial Design major with a minor in Technology & Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Over my collegiate and professional career I have developed experience with product management, UX/UI design and research, marketing, and physical product design. I am currently looking for post grad opportunities in product management, consulting, and marketing management fields while completing my final year of college.
